Yes — the Personal plan is free forever. It includes all the core features: medication management, reminders, health documents, health profile, emergency contacts, and vitals tracking. Your data is stored locally on your device and no account is required.

Personal Plus is an optional upgrade that adds secure, encrypted cloud backup and sync across your devices. It is coming soon. Both the Personal and Personal Plus plans are for the FarmakoMed mobile app — neither plan gives you web-browser access to your health data.

No. Cloud backup means your data is encrypted and stored on secure servers so you can restore it to a new phone or sync between devices. It does not provide a web portal or browser-based access to your health records. A web companion version is planned for a future phase of FarmakoMed.

FarmakoMed was built on the belief that essential health organisation tools should be accessible to everyone — not gated behind a subscription. The Personal Plan exists because basic medication management, document storage, and health organisation should not require a recurring payment. You can use all core features on your own device, without an account, for as long as you need. See our About page for more on the philosophy behind this decision.

No. The Personal Plan is a complete product, not a limited preview. The core features for organising your medication, health documents, and personal health information are fully available in the Personal Plan and are intended to remain there. Personal Plus adds optional backup and sync — it does not unlock features that the Personal Plan deliberately withholds.

FarmakoMed uses AI selectively for practical tasks — medication recognition from photos, text extraction from documents, and plain-language summaries of medical paperwork. These features run on-device and are not gated behind a paid plan today. By focusing on specific, well-defined use cases and using on-device processing where possible, they can be included as part of the core product rather than charged separately. A separate, optional AI-powered insights capability (Personal Insight / Family Insight) is planned for the future — see the Roadmap.

Yes. The Personal Plan is intended to remain available permanently. Core health organisation tools — medication management, reminders, health profile, health records, documents, and emergency information — are part of the FarmakoMed mission and are intended to remain in the Personal Plan. Optional paid plans exist alongside it — Personal Plus and Family for cloud backup, synchronisation, and shared care, with AI-powered Insight tiers planned — to help fund ongoing development. These exist alongside the Personal Plan, not instead of it.

No. The Personal Plan includes all core features — medication tracking, reminders, health documents, health profile, emergency contacts, and vitals. Cloud backup and sync are optional, available with Personal Plus and Family, and are not required to use the app.

Many health applications place essential functionality behind subscriptions. FarmakoMed follows a different philosophy. Everyone should have access to basic tools for organising their medication and health information — not just those who can afford a monthly fee. The Personal Plan exists to provide practical value without requiring a subscription. Personal Plus, Family, and future premium offerings help support development while keeping the Personal Plan available.

FarmakoMed's Personal Plan is intended to remain available and useful to everyone. If you find the project valuable and would like to support ongoing development, you can make a voluntary contribution. By default, all your data is stored locally on your device. It never leaves your phone unless you choose to enable cloud backup (Personal Plus or Family). FarmakoMed does not send your health data to any server without your explicit consent.

No. FarmakoMed works fully offline. All core features — medication tracking, reminders, documents, emergency contacts — are available without any internet connection. Some optional features (like cloud backup, nearby pharmacy search, or medication database lookups) require connectivity.

No. FarmakoMed does not sell, share, or monetise your personal or health data. There is no advertising in the app. We use only anonymous crash reports to improve stability.

Yes. You own your data. FarmakoMed allows you to export your full data at any time in standard formats. You can also delete all data from within the app. For cloud data, you can request deletion by contacting privacy@farmakomed.eu.

Not yet. FarmakoMed launched first on Android. iOS support is planned and in development. Register your interest to be notified when the iOS version is ready.

Not in this release. A web version of FarmakoMed is planned for a later phase. The first public release focuses on the mobile app experience, with optional cloud features for backup and sync. This website (farmakomed.eu) is a product and information site — it does not provide web access to your health data.

FarmakoMed is available in English, Nederlands (Dutch), and Italiano (Italian). Medication sources are region-aware — the app uses the appropriate databases for the US, Netherlands, and the EU depending on your selected region.

Yes. The Personal Plan requires no account and no internet connection.

For Personal Plan users: only you, on your own device. For Personal Plus and Family users: your synced data is stored encrypted on our servers and is not accessible to anyone other than you via the app.

Yes. The AI-assisted medication recognition feature is a tool to support you, not a definitive identification system. Always verify any AI suggestion against the physical package, leaflet, pharmacist, or a qualified healthcare professional before acting on it. See our Medical Disclaimer.

FarmakoMed can use AI to recognise medication information from packaging and documents. When supported, recognised information can also be compared against trusted medicine information sources to help provide additional context and confidence. Verification results should always be reviewed by the user before saving.

No. Verification availability depends on the medication, your country, the supported information sources, and whether a matching result is found. Some medications may have limited or no information available. FarmakoMed will indicate when verification support is available and when it is not.

You photograph a medication package and FarmakoMed uses an on-device AI model, running entirely on your phone, to recognise the medication. No photo is sent to any external server for AI analysis. The result is cross-referenced with verified medication databases to confirm the identification.

Not currently. Caregiver access has been disabled for now, with no announced timeline for its return. Your data remains fully under your control on your own device.

You can track blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, steps, sleep, heart rate, and SpO₂. Vitals can also be imported automatically from Android Health Connect if you choose to enable that integration.
